Odisha allows home delivery of liquor. The Odisha Government on Saturday allowed home delivery of liquor by the existing on and off shop license of India made foreign liquor and beer.

BHUBANESWARHome delivery of the liquor in Odisha, the state government has introduced 50% additional (COVID fee). The normal timing for home delivery would be between 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The state's excise department announced that the state government has allowed home delivery of liquor by the existing ON and OFF shop license of IMFL and beer situated in areas other than containment zones and shopping malls. May 24,2020  by amending the relevant provisions under Odisha excise rules,2017.

The additional revenue to be generated would go towards meeting the expenses being incurred by the state government in the treatment of COVID-19 patients and other related activities, it said.

Delivery charges

The delivery charge has been fixed at ₹100 for orders up to ₹1,000 and thereafter ₹25 for every additional ₹500 in order value. In no case would the delivery charge be allowed to exceed ₹300. Normal timing for home delivery would be between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m
